Production Management
Setting up a production management system starts with configuring the product catalog and entering bills of materials.
Each bill of materials serves as the basis for calculating material requirements and the scope of work needed to manufacture the product.
Semi-finished goods also have their own bill of materials. Finished products can use semi-finished goods in the manufacturing process.
Production Planning
Odoo provides tools for production managers to plan the manufacturing process. A manufacturing order is created for each product type. All orders are combined into a production program.
Current work-in-progress manufacturing orders are available in the system for monitoring and include commands for starting, pausing, and completing tasks. This allows real-time tracking of production activities, enables workers to mark tasks as completed, and provides control over individual task statuses.
The system analyzes product volumes from sales orders. This information serves as the basis for determining the total demand for products ordered by customers, which is then compared with available stock. If the product can be manufactured, a manufacturing order is automatically generated, supplementing the current production plan.
Raw Materials and Supplies Procurement
Manufacturing orders contain sufficient data to determine raw material and supply requirements across the entire production program.
The system analyzes current stock levels and suggests various replenishment methods, automatically generating purchase requests. The manager only needs to approve or adjust them.
The Production Management system is directly linked to the procurement system and the inventory management system.
When additional semi-finished goods need to be produced, the system automatically suggests manufacturing the corresponding units of products or semi-finished goods by creating a Manufacturing Order.
Inventory Management
Implementing the Odoo system allows you to bring order to inventory management. The warehouse keeper becomes an integral part of the company's processes, promptly recording all changes in the composition and quantity of goods (raw materials and supplies) at storage locations.
All warehouse keeper operations are grouped by type and have statuses of "planned" and "completed." This enables effective warehouse planning and overall raw material and supply logistics.
